Questions patrons ask.
Shifu Foundation is registered as a Section 8 nonprofit in India. The new tax regime in India does not have any tax-deductible benefit.
Yes - we'd love to have you. We currently have only Indian payments enabled on our checkout, so international contributions aren't going through it just yet. Drop us a note at contact@shifufoundation.org and we'll guide you through the easiest way to contribute from your country.
It’s small enough to be accessible, large enough to matter. Every district needs a small group of patrons for Shifu Foundation to begin on-ground activities. The unit is intentional: 100 patrons × ₹10,000 = enough to seed the work in one district for a year.
Your contribution funds all activities that help us identify and empower Shifu Fellows. You can see all updates in the ecosystem map. We also plan to publish an impact report once a year.
Yes. The donation form lets you choose the district you want to back. If the district isn’t active yet, your contribution counts toward activating it — bringing screenings, founder meetups, and our first cohort there.
₹10,000 is our suggested entry contribution — it’s how we built the patron model. You can give more via the custom amount field. Recurring contributions aren’t available yet but are coming soon.
Patrons get invited to events with the founders they’re backing, can opt to mentor 1:1, and join the patron network — a quiet group of people who came home for their district. We’ll email you an onboarding note after your first contribution.
